Cyclones move to second place after two rounds of Big 12 Championship

The ISU women’s golf team finished the second round of the Big 12 Championships in 2nd place with a round score of 291 (+3), bringing their tournament total to 578 (+2). The Cyclones started Saturday in first place with a one stroke lead over Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State, who is now leading the tournament, posted a score of 286 (-2) on the round, marking a two round total of 574 (-2). Oklahoma State will hold a four stroke lead heading into the final round of the tournament.

Although the Cyclones fell one spot on the leaderboard, two individuals on the team made their way up on the individual leaderboards.

Senior Cajsa Persson and freshman each shot rounds of 70 (-2). Persson brings her total score to 142 (-2) and moves into a tie for 4th individually, Wangmahaporn finished the round with a tournament total of 141 (-3) and climbed one spot into a tie for second and one stroke away from first.

The golfer at the top of the leaderboard is TCU freshman Sabina Pena who finished her second round with a total score of 140 (-4).
