Penny and Sparrow to headline M-Shop
April 7, 2016
Singer-songwriter duo Penny and Sparrow will bring their “spiritual” and “emotional” (“Baeble Music”) set of tunes to the M-Shop at 9 p.m. Saturday.
Tickets are $10 with a student ID and $12 for the public, with a $2 increase the day of the show. Tickets can be purchased at the M-Shop box office or online via Midwestix.
The duo’s 2014 album “Struggle Pretty” peaked at #49 on Billboard’s “Top 50” and #2 on iTunes’ singer-songwriter chart.
The duo came together after they were roommates at the University of Texas and recorded their debut album “Creature” behind an orphanage with only a microphone and a laptop.
“If you listen closely, you can hear kids screaming and laughing in the background of each song,” said Andy Baxter, lead vocalist.
Singer-songwriter Corey Kilgannon will open the show. His music can be streamed on Spotify and Soundcloud.
