ISU volleyball freshman setter Remi Bowman will be transferring from Iowa State after one semester in Ames.

Bowman played in five matches and recorded 63 assists along with 15 digs. Those five matches came in the beginning of the season against non-conference teams.

After Sep. 19, when Iowa State lost to Nebraska at home, Bowman was away from the team. She was no longer at practices and with the team when traveling or playing in matches.

When asked about the situation in late September, coach Christy Johnson-Lynch said she was recovering from an illness and would be back within a couple weeks. After those weeks went by, Johnson-Lynch said Bowman was dealing with personal problems and didn’t have a timetable for her return.

When asked again about the situation in late October, Johnson-Lynch had no comment and neither did the ISU Athletics Department.

The athletic department wrote that it declined to comment further on the matter.

“I appreciate Remi’s contribution to our program,” Johnson-Lynch said. “She is a wonderful young woman, and I wish her the very best in whatever her next step might be.”

There has been no information about Bowman and where she’ll be playing next season.
