There have been tons of improvements that have been made to the testing centers around campus in the last year because of the high demand for the testing centers.

Initiatives set forth last fall to improve student experience at the testing centers on campus are staying around for at least another year.

In 2014, a set of initiatives were implemented to help better serve the Iowa State community when it comes to the university’s testing centers.

One of the most successful was the use of webcams to provide a live feed of the lines at the centers so that students could gauge when they should take their tests. The number of seats in the testing centers, in total, has jumped from 219 to 448 over the past year as well.

The campaign also called for the awarding of gift certificates from the Memorial Union to students who took exams before 10 a.m. That program was unsuccessful and has since been discontinued.

“We have limited capacity and we are doing everything we can to use that capacity as efficiently as possible,” said Douglas Bull, manager of the Engineering-LAS Online Testing Centers.
