3 take aways from City Council meeting

  • Unanimous vote on resolution approving amendment to the Land Use Policy Plan for properties located at 101, 105, 107 and 205 S. Wilmoth Ave. and 3316 Lincoln Way.
    • What does it mean? 
      • The properties listed above will be zoned as Highway Oriented Commercial and the remaining area of the site will be zoned as High Density Residential.
      • The properties are all part of the development group Breckenridge and their plans to build a three-story residential space with 422 beds and between 15,000-40,000 square feet of commercial space.

  • Second passage of ordinance rezoning with Master Plan properties in Iowa State University Research Park was passed.  

    • What does it mean? 
      • The city is one step closer to the first steps in making the research park more developed with numerous types of developments including: office space, retail, restaurants, industrial use exc.
