Evelyne Guay didn’t let her debut at the Panamerican Junior Athletics Championships on Saturday in Edmonton, Canada, go to waste.

After qualifying for the event by placing first in the finals of the junior 800-meter run at the Canadian Track and Field Championships on July 5, Guay took third at the Panamerican Championships.

The Ontario, Canada, native finished the race in 2:08.52, earning bronze.

Future Cyclone Erinn Stenman-Fahey, who finished second behind Guay at the Canadian Track and Field Championships, finished fourth at the Panamerican Championships. Stenman-Fahey clocked a 2:09.42 time in the 800-meter event.

ISU women’s distance coach Andrea Grove-McDonough congratulated her two runners on Twitter.
