Christina Hillman was unable to repeat her 2014 performance in the shot put at the NCAA Outdoor Championship in Eugene, Ore. on Thursday.

But like last year, the senior was the highlight of the show for the Cyclones. She finished sixth in the event with a mark of 56 feet 2.75 inches.

Hillman was the third ISU athlete to compete for the Cyclones on Thursday night. Iowa State’s lone freshman who qualified for nationals finished in 13th place in the long jump with a 20-feet-4.25-inch mark.

Kendra White followed Luque in the 400-meter dash. The senior made her nationals debut and finished 14th with a 52.99 time.

Redshirt senior Katy Moen was the final athlete to compete for Iowa State on Thursday. She started the 10,000-meter run, but did not finish the race after dropping out with four laps to go.

Sophomore Marine Vallet will be the last athlete to compete for Iowa State at nationals at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the high jump.
