The ISU basketball team will take on a familiar team in the Texas A&M Aggies on Jan. 30 when Iowa State takes on the former Big 12 team in the Big 12-SEC Challenge in College Station, Texas.

Texas A&M moved to the SEC during the 2012-13 academic year and is 10-9 all-time against Iowa State.

The Aggies finished with a 21-12 record and earned an NIT berth that they took to the second round and lost 84-72 against Louisiana Tech.

Texas A&M will be a team on the rise next season, bringing in the No. 6 ranked recruiting class with its four recruits, according to ESPN.com.

Iowa State will return all of its starters with the exception of Dustin Hogue and will be part of the slightly-advantaged Big 12, which is 12-7 all-time in the event against the SEC.

The last time the Cyclones visited Texas A&M on Jan. 7, 2012, former ISU forward Royce White put up 10 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists for the triple-double.

Other notable matchups in the challenge include Kansas vs. Kentucky, West Virginia vs. Florida and Oklahoma vs. LSU.
