Sigma Lambda Gamma to hold Rent-A-Puppy Fundraiser

Matthew Rezab

Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Inc. will host its Rent-A-Puppy Fundraiser for the sixth time at Iowa State on Thursday and Friday.

The fundraiser will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the South Campanile Lawn both days.

For half an hour, students can “rent a puppy” while raising money for local animal shelters. Last semester, Sigma Lambda Delta was able to raise $2,121. Half of the proceeds are donated to the local animal shelters, which volunteer their puppies to help make the event possible.

Canine lovers can play with the dogs, who are all up for adoption. A half hour costs $10 for a single person, $16 for two people and $21 for a group of three.

The event has helped several dogs from local animal shelters find home during the past few years. Any students wishing to volunteer can contact Sigma Lambda Delta President Griselda Rodriguez at [email protected].
