For the first time in his career, Kyven Gadson will wrestle in the semi-finals of the NCAA Championships.

Gadson, who won his first two matches by a technical fall and a pin, won a 12-2 majord decision against Iowa’s Nathan Burak in the quarterfinals of 197 pounds. Gadson will face Duke’s Connor Hartmann tonight in the semi-finals for a chance to wrestle for an NCAA Championship.

In his fourth career match against Iowa’s Cory Clark, Earl Hall went down early and was never able to regain control as Clark advanced to the semi-finals in a 7-1 decision victory.

Dante Rodriguez’s first NCAA tournament came to end after a 6-1 decision loss to No. 3 seed Lavion Mayes of Missouri. Michael Moreno turned in his second pin in a row in the consolation bracket after getting a fall against Max Rohskopf and followed it up with another pin. Moreno will wrestle Wisconsin’s Isaac Jordan later tonight.

At 184 pounds, Lelund Weatherspoon was eliminated by Davidson’s Scott Patrick.
