Let me first start this week’s piece off by saying if you haven’t heard of Luke Shay yet, I’m sorry. The Virginia Beach native DJ first came to the forefront after winning Adventure Club’s “Wonder” competition, and after moving to L.A., the 24-year-old genius has kept the hits coming.

Coming from piano roots and classical influences, Shay has made a name for himself as the go-to man for upbeat house remixes that are sure to make anyone’s day. His recent remix of Borgeous & Shaun Frank’s “This Could Be Love” provides a perfect opportunity for me to showcase his seemingly impeccable résumé of remixes.

Last week, he released the new remix I mentioned earlier on his SoundCloud page, soundcloud.com/lukeshay, and damn does it bring the feels. The original track already was littered with beautiful aspects, like the vocals by Delaney Jane, but Luke took it one step further to help it move straight into your heart. The sound is fairly reminiscent of his remix of Odesza’s “Say My Name,” which is absolutely not a problem.

The man is brilliant at invigorating your ears and taking you on a reminiscent journey and there is no doubt that he will become a household EDM name in the very near future. He’s also in the studio now working on an original with Jeremy William, so be on the lookout for that.

As usual, to hear these fresh EDM tracks and more, go to my good friend Alex’s Soundcloud at Mckinnon82. Here are YouTube links to Luke Shay’s latest remix, as well as his “Wonder” remix in case you’ve got some sort of grudge against Soundcloud.
