Student stabs roommate, slits own throat

A 19-year-old California college student has been arrested and charged with attempted homicide after allegedly stabbing his roommate in the early hours of Feb. 17.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, Dillon Kim, a student at Santa Clara University, allegedly attacked his on-campus dormitory roommate with a knife around 3:30 a.m. Kim then took the knife to himself, slitting his own throat.
The roommate has been hospitalized, but expected to recover. In an interview with the San Jose Mercury News, police Lt. Kurt Clarke said the roommate suffered from “multiple lacerations, including a stab wound.” Kim was also hospitalized.
According to People.com, doctors managed to stitch Kim’s throat together before the mug shot (above) was taken.
There is no known motive for the attack.
