Adam Devine is an American comedian and actor who is most popular from his roles in the musical comedy “Pitch Perfect,” his lead role in the Comedy Central series “Workaholics” and his cameos in ABC’s “Modern Family.”

Devine was originally born in Waterloo, Iowa before attending high school in Omaha, Nebraska and took his higher education to California, where he attended the American Conservatory Theater and studied acting.

In 2006, Devine formed the Mail Order Comedy group with Blake Anderson, Anders Holm and Kyle Newacheck, who would all go on to co-create and co-star in Comedy Central’s “Workaholics.”

Mail Order Comedy found success once social media sites such as Myspace and YouTube rose to popularity. A music video made by the group titled “Wizards Never Die” was also featured on the G4 series “Attack of the Show!”

In the late 2000s, Devine saw many small bits of exposure, such as small roles in “Mama’s Boy” in 2007 and “National Lampoons: The Legend of Awesomest Maximus” in 2009.

Besides having a small role in the short lived ABC comedy “Traffic Light,” Devine had small cameo roles in NBC’s “Community” and Netflix’s “Arrested Development.” Devine also had a great deal of exposure when he played Bumper Allen in “Pitch Perfect,” a musical comedy released in 2012, which went on to earn $113 million worldwide.

Devine is probably most well known for playing Adam DeMamp in Comedy Central’s “Workaholics,” where he is also executive producer. During the second season, the show averaged 1.64 million viewers per episode, but has been steadily declining since.

“Choosing a favorite role [of Devine’s] is a tough one, but my favorite is probably Adam from ‘Workaholics,’” said Brendan Pendegraft, freshman in pre-business. “His cameo in “Community” comes pretty close though.”

Devine has been busy as of late. He just finished up work on two films: “Pitch Perfect 2″ and “Final Girls,” which both come out in 2015. He will also be co-starring alongside Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro in the upcoming comedy “The Intern,” which comes out in September of 2015.

Doors for his comedy show open at 8:00 p.m. Feb. 27 in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union. The show begins at 9:00 p.m.

Tickets are $12 with a student ID and $20 for the public. Tickets can be purchased at the M-Shop box office or online at www.midwestix.com.
