Four big things to watch for at Big 4 Duals

Iowa State will host the track and field Big 4 Duals. Here are four things to watch for at the event:

– Senior Kendra White broke the school record in the 400-meter dash in her first home meet of the 2014 season. She’ll look to do the same Jan. 24 during her first home competition of the 2015 season.

– Hannah Willms expects to be a factor in the jump events after placing in the top five in the high jump at the Holiday Inn Invitational on Jan. 17.

– After defeating Drake, but falling to Iowa and Northern Iowa at last year’s Big 4 Duals, Iowa State will attempt to sweep all three teams in this year’s event.

– More personal records. In the first day of competition at the Holiday Inn Invitational, redshirt senior Anna Holtermann set a career mark in the weight throw, and redshirt sophomore Julie Wiemerslage set a personal-best time in the mile.

The meet will take place at 12 p.m. Jan. 24 at Lied Recreational Center.
