Many of the Iowa State tennis team will be traveling outside the United States and back to their hometowns in different countries around the world. As they prepare for the season, the players plan to stay in shape by performing different tasks.

Senior Caroline Andersen – Bergen, Norway

Andersen plans to enjoy the holiday with food and family, but will practice at her local tennis facility to make sure she’s ready to compete in the regular season.

Senior Ksenia Pronina – Duesseldorf, Germany

Pronina said she doesn’t want to lose her habits on break, so she will continue with her mentality of practice. Her diet and game will be watched and she will be ready to take on the top spot for singles this season.

Freshman Anna Garcia – Reus, Spain

Garcia said she is disappointed about not playing during the fall season, but she wants to show coach Armando Espinosa she’s ready to play. Garcia will continue her rehab assignment in Spain and continue her regular practices.

Junior Alejandra Galvis – Cucuta, Colombia

Galvis said she needs to focus her attention on strength and conditioning over the break. She still needs to continue her normal routine, but focus more attention on specific areas.

The players will come back from break and get ready to play in the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational on Jan. 16-18. Their regular season starts on Jan. 30 at home against Omaha.
