Freshman outside hitter and middle blocker Alexis Conaway spikes the ball past the Kansas State Wildcats. The ISU volleyball team won all three sets against Kansas State on Nov. 5 at Hilton Coliseum. The final scores were 25-23, 25-23 and 25-22.

Harrison March

1. Texas (18-1, 10-1 Big 12): The Longhorns are back on track, winning their last three matches convincingly after dropping one to Oklahoma.

2. Oklahoma (17-7, 8-3 Big 12): Last week’s loss to Texas Christian likely put the Sooners out of contention for a share of the Big 12 crown, but Oklahoma remains a threat to turn some heads in the postseason.

3. Kansas State (20-5, 7-4 Big 12): Two road losses in buildings that visiting Big 12 teams have won in just two times this year isn’t enough to slide the Wildcats down. If they can’t get off the skid, however, it’ll be a different story.

4. Iowa State (13-9, 5-6 Big 12): The Cyclones claimed their first Big 12 road match this weekend, taking down West Virginia in three sets. Using a 6-2 rotation to sweep their last two opponents, the Cyclones may have finally solved the puzzle.

5. Kansas (18-7, 6-5 Big 12): The Jayhawks have won back-to-back matches, but the victories came against lesser opponents. Their true test this season lies in the home stretch, with 4-out-of-5 matches coming against the top four teams in this week’s rankings.

6. Texas Christian (15-11, 5-6 Big 12): A five-set win against Oklahoma and a three-game winning streak has the Horned Frogs trending upward as the regular season nears its end.

7. Baylor (13-13, 3-8 Big 12): After moving up in last week’s rankings, the Bears went on to drop all six sets they played this past week.

8. West Virginia (13-12, 3-8 Big 12): The Mountaineers have dropped four in a row, and a Nov. 12 match at Texas doesn’t bode well for stopping their skid.

9. Texas Tech (15-9, 3-9 Big 12): The Lady Raiders haven’t won a match in 24 days, making their 12-0 nonconference record look more like a product of weak scheduling than strong play.

10. Oklahoma State (0-0, 0-0 Big 12): It’s been heartbreaker after heartbreaker for the OSU equestrian team — this week it was a 12-7 loss at Kansas State. A bye week before a four-meet home stand will go a long way toward helping the Cowgirls get back on the horse.
