Boot styles we’re falling for this season
October 1, 2014
Put away the sandals and flip-flops and whip out your favorite fall boots. This season the trend not to miss is the “over-the-knee” style that’s sure to impress wherever you are. These boots can be worn virtually anywhere, depending how they are styled. Dress them down and wear to class with the perfect pair of skinny jeans and flowy blouse, or dress them up for a night out with friends by pairing them with a fall dress and pair of opaque tights.
The next style on the list is the “Riding” boot. This is a classic piece that’s fit for any wardrobe. Typically available in neutral colors like black, chocolate and tan, it is a versatile staple in any closet, making it worth the investment. Styling this boot with a dark-colored denim is the perfect way to add a little spice to an outfit, while maintaining a timeless look.
The “Buckle and Moto” trend is for the more daring individual. It adds a grunge look to outfits with a slightly rugged feel. This is the perfect style to wear to class because this style of boot typically doesn’t have a heel and is easy to wear and style.
“I like to style my moto boots with a fun skirt and graphic tee because it’s simple and comfortable,” said Casie Tindell, senior in marketing.
The last featured style is “booties”. Booties hit right around the ankle and are offered in a variety of colors, styles and materials.
Shannon Sanford, buyer of Traditional Shoes at Von Maur, said booties are one of the most prevalent styles selling this season. Styled with a comfy fall dress and favorite statement necklace, booties are the perfect pick for a lunch date with friends, but can also be considered “dress for success” attire for a midterm at school.
If these four styles haven’t tripped your trigger, Sanford mentioned a few other styles coming up next year.
“Quilted will be back next year, and leopard is a big trend in general,” Sanford said.
These two styles are right on trend and are well worth the investment.
