Cyclone Hockey won 2-1 in overtime against the Ohio Bobcats on Oct. 31 at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.

The No. 10 Cyclones (9-4-2) struggled to maintain offensive pressure in the first period. They were out-shot 14-8, partly because of the many turnovers caused by the No. 8 Bobcats (9-2-2). But the Cyclones managed to escape with a 0-0 tie going into the first intermission.

They turned around the sloppy play early after Trevor Lloyd scored on the first Cyclone shot in the second period. It appeared that Cyclone Hockey had the advantage after the goal but it was quickly relinquished after Ohio knotted the game at one. The score held tied into the second intermission.

Nobody could find the back of the net in the third period, and the game was sent into overtime.

In overtime, Zack Johnson forced a turnover and sped passed the defense to finish the game by shelving a backhand shot.

Cyclone Hockey completes its two-game series against the Ohio Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.
