Ames police release these images this morning of a suspect involved with a robbery at the East 13th Street Kum and Go on the morning of Aug. 28.

Daily Staff

Police responded to an armed robbery at the Kum & Go on East 13th Street early Aug .

The suspect, a white man in his 30s or 40s and 5-feet-4-inches to 5-feet-6-inches tall, displayed a knife or box cutter and demanded money. The store employee described the man as wearing black pants, a blue T-shirt and black boots.

According to a news release, the suspect had pulled his shirt above his head to hide his face. He left without money after the store employee called for the others working in the store.

A small, dark four-door car was seen leaving the area and may be involved.

Geoff Huff, Ames police investigations commander, said the department is hoping to get a still picture of the suspect by the end of the day and hopefully video footage of the incident to send out to the public in hopes of a tip.
