Jamie Lynn Spears comes to Great Hall of Memorial Union

Country singer Jamie Lynn Spears will make an appearance in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union on Aug. 28. Spears was initially booked for the 2014 Veishea celebration.

Jamie Lynn Spears is the younger sister of pop star Britney Spears. Jamie Lynn first came to prominence when she was only 13, playing the role of Zoey Brooks in the Nickelodeon series “Zoey 101.” She won four awards, including the 2006 Kid’s Choice Award for the role.

After giving birth to daughter Maddie in 2007, the singer went on an extended hiatus until 2013. She relaunched her image as a country singer and released her first single, “How Could I Want More,” in November 2013. She released her first EP, “The Journey,” on May 27.

Tickets are $5 for students with their ISUCard and $12 for the public. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show will start at 8 p.m. with Brandon Lay as the opening act.
