Democratic nominees Jack Hatch and Monica Vernon stopped at Olde Main Brewing Company in downtown Ames on July 3 during their campaign for Iowa governor and lieutenant governor, respectively. At the event, attended by approximately 30 community members, Hatch and Vernon talked about their qualifications for the highest government positions in the state, Gov. Terry Branstad’s failed campaign promises and their own campaign plans.
