Police investigate robbery at Swift Stop on Lincoln Way

Ames Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Swift Stop gas station on 3406 Lincoln Way at 2 a.m. June 3.

According to a police report from Ames Police, the store employee said the suspect demanded money and displayed a handgun. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money on foot and headed southbound.

The store employee described the suspect as a black male, between 5 foot, 6 inches and 5 foot, 7 inches and 150 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and had a black bandana around his face.

No one was injured during the incident.
