Iowa State dropped by Cowboys in Oklahoma

Iowa State fell 6-1 to No. 22 Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla. on Friday evening.

The ISU tennis team (8-12, 0-7 Big 12) was swept in the doubles format with the closest match coming at No. 3 doubles where freshman Lydia Green and junior Caroline Andersen were defeated 7-6(5).

The lone ISU point was scored by sophomore Ana Gasparovic, who won her first Big 12 match of the year in comeback fashion over Carla Tur Mari at No. 4 singles, 1-6, 6-3, 1-0(10-8).

Freshman Samantha Budai lost at No. 2 singles to Megan McCray of Oklahoma State by a score of 6-3, 6-3 in the closest of the ISU defeats.

Iowa State was beaten soundly at the other five singles spots, resulting in the 6-1 team defeat.

Iowa State travels next to Norman, Okla. to battle with the No. 18 Sooners on Saturday. Matches are set to begin at 12 p.m.
