Live @ Veishea presents Cassadee Pope

Cassadee Pope blew the judges away during the third season of NBC’s “The Voice” with her diverse vocal talent and powerful stage presence. The up-and-coming country starlet will be hitting the stage of Live @ Veishea this year.

Pope’s first solo debut, “Frame by Frame,” has seen major success. It debuted on the Billboard Top 200 at No. 9 and charted straight to the No. 1 spot of the Top Country Albums chart.

“Frame by Frame” is the platform that has returned Pope to her country roots. Before appearing on “The Voice,” Pope had fronted the pop-punk band Hey Monday. She has also toured with the likes of Fallout Boy, All Time Low and Yellowcard. It was not until her time on “The Voice” when she realized country was her niche.

“That really stuck with me because I didn’t really think going into singing that song [“Over You”] that I was going country,” Pope said in an interview with Radio.com. “I just thought, ‘This is an awesome song with beautiful lyrics. I want to tell a story with this song.’

“It really got the wheels turning in my head. Then the song went to No. 1 on iTunes, and I was like, ‘Wow! This is really translating well. Maybe I can go back to my country roots and still do that pop-rock thing that I’m doing now and be able to do it all.’”

Pope flew straight to Nashville, Tenn., to begin writing and recording “Frame by Frame” after season three of “The Voice.” Pope is the primary songwriter for most of the songs on her album, trying to draw from her own life experiences to create song visceral and relatable.

“’11′ is probably my most personal piece of work I’ve ever done,” Pope told Parade.com. “I think that it is a very uplifting song. I’m basically saying I wish I could tell my old self that it’s all going to be fine. It’s all going to work out. I’m happy that I was able to put that on the album because I think a lot of people can relate to that kind of experience, and I’ve gotten a really strong reaction already from fans.”

Pope will be sharing the Live @ Veishea lineup April 12 with fellow country up-and-comer Jaime Lynn Spears. Both have roots in country music and have honed craft with veteran Nashville singers and songwriters.
