ISU swimming, diving team finishes day one of Big 12 Championships tied for 3rd

The Cyclones stacked the 200 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay with ISU swimmers on day one of the Big 12 Championships.

Iowa State entered five different relay teams in the 200 medley, and two teams in the 800 freestyle relay.

Loeschke, Wistey, Kucera and Paulson placed fourth for the Cyclones in the 200 medley relay with a 1:41.41 time.

In the 800 freestyle relay, Clarete, Evensen, Vollhaber and Kleiner snatched a third place finish for Iowa State with a time of 7:18.24.

Iowa State finished day one’s session tied for third place with 62 points. Texas is leading with 80.

The Cyclones will compete in the 500 free, 200 individual medley, 50 free, 400 medley relay and 1-meter diving on day two of Big 12s.
