The body of an ISU student found hanging near a laundry room in Wilson Hall on Tuesday morning, Dec. 10, was identified as Eltahir Osman, age 19.

Osman, an international student, was a freshman in construction engineering and a resident of Wilson Hall. Rob Bowers, associate director of the Department of Public Safety, said Osman’s family has been notified.

The investigation into Osman’s death will continue, but ISU Police suspect no foul play.

“There will be an autopsy. There are still parts of the investigation being done. I don’t anticipate at this time that those will change the outcome in terms of there’s nothing to change the belief that we don’t suspect foul play,” Bowers said.

The state medical examiner will determine the nature of Osman’s death.
