The Lowdown

The No. 17 Cyclones took down in-state rival, the No. 21 Iowa Hawkeyes, 83-70 on Thursday night in Hilton Coliseum. Hallie Christofferson recorded her 14th career double-double with an 18-point, 14-rebound effort against the Hawkeyes.

Brynn Williamson lead all scorers with 21 points and Seanna Johnson pulled in a career high 16 rebounds. All players saw the court, including former Cyclone volleyball player, Tenisha Matlock, who was added to the team on Monday to add depth after losing Madison Baier to an ACL tear.

The Turning Point

With under 10:00 remaining, the Hawkeyes cut the lead to 10 points as the Cyclones clung on to a 51-41 lead. The Cyclones went on a 6-0 run to distance themselves one last time, and the game never got closer than 12 points the rest of the game.

X Factor

Brynn Williamson — The junior sparked the Cyclone offense early, starting the game 5-for-10 from 3-point range in the first half to more than double the next best scorer on the floor. She finished with 21 points, five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals.
