Freshman outside hitter Ciara Capezio was named Big 12 Rookie of the Week. The award came after the ISU volleyball team swept both South Dakota and Oklahoma last week.

In three sets against South Dakota, Capezio had 19 kills with a career-high .593 hitting percentage. She also added two aces and a solo block against the Coyotes.

In the match against Oklahoma, Capezio added another 11 kills to bring her season total to 241. She also had nine digs and an ace against the Sooners.

Capezio is 10th in the Big 12 in kills per set with 3.09. She is also second in the conference in aces per set behind sophomore middle blocker Tory Knuth. Capezio has had 29 aces on the season.
