ISU women’s cross-country finishes 5th at Roy Griak Invitational

The ISU women’s cross-country team ran through high winds and rains Saturday at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minnesota, where the team finished fifth overall. The Cyclones ended the invite with 119 points.

Sophomore Crystal Nelson led the pack for Iowa State, finishing third overall in the 6K contest. She came in with a time of 20:50.

Sophomore Perez Rotich finished in 17th place on Saturday while freshman Bethanie Brown took 21st. Katie Moen came in 28th overall.

Iowa State ran Saturday without senior captain Samantha Bluske, who suffered a foot injury in practice last week. Her status is still uncertain.

The No. 26 Cyclones will run next in the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Oct. 19.
