Iowa State took down Western Illinois by a score of 2-1 Tuesday in its first home match of the 2013 season.

It was a quick start for the Cyclones as they rattled off 13 shots in the first half, but were only able to capitalize on one chance. The lone first half goal came from the foot of Erin Green in the 13th minute of the half.

The second half was not much different. Iowa State continued to swarm the goal with 13 shots until senior Jennifer Dominguez stepped up and put the ball in the net in the 66th minute.

Iowa State will attempt to improve its record to 4-0 on Sunday, Sept. 1 against Minnesota.
