The ISU softball team will try to add to its current winning streak this weekend as it travels south to face No. 6 Texas.

The Cyclones (18-19, 3-3 Big 12) are riding a four-game win streak after sweeping Oklahoma State and knocking off Drake on April 9, 2013. It is the longest win streak since 2011.

Texas (35-4, 5-0 Big 12) is currently on a 12-game win streak and has not lost a game since March 14.

During the current streak, the Cyclones have been hitting for an average of .372. The team has 197 RBIs this season, which is the most in a single season in school history.

Texas leads the all-time series 36-1. Iowa State’s only win came in Austin in 2005.

Texas pitching ace Blaire Luna is 19-1 this season with a 1.04 ERA. In 128 innings, Luna has fanned 236 and given up just 15 extra-base hits.

Iowa State boasts the reigning Big 12 player of the week in Sarah Hawryluk. Hawryluk is the first Cyclone to earn a weekly conference award since 2007 and the third position player to win the award all time.

The Cyclones are on pace for their best offensive season in school history and will rely on the bats to come up big against one of the best pitching teams in the nation.

The two Big 12 rivals will meet for the first time this season at 7 p.m. CST on April 12 at McCombs Field in Austin, Texas.
