Cyclones defeat Northern Iowa for second win of day

The ISU volleyball team won its second match of the day on Saturday as it defeated Northern Iowa 3-0 following a 3-0 victory against Nebraska-Omaha earlier in the day.

The Cyclones (3-1) took the tightly contested first set against the Panthers 28-26, before running away with the second and third sets 25-17 and 15-5.

ISU sophomore right side hitter Mackenzie Bigbee led the Cyclones in kills with 12 against the Panthers, followed by sophomore setter Andie Malloy with 8. The Cyclones totaled 37 kills in 93 attempts in the match.

ISU sophomore Jenelle Hudson continued to lead the team in assists, picking up 27 against Northern Iowa after totaling 24 against Nebraska-Omaha.

ISU senior libero Kristen Hahn led Iowa State defensively, recording 15 of the team’s 42 digs.
