Senior Tori Torrescano pitched a complete game against No. 8 Oregon (20-4) to lead Iowa State (10-10) to its first top-10 victory since 2009.

Torrescano, now 5-3 on the season, allowed one run and struck out four batters in a 2-1 win. The win was Torrescano’s second against a ranked opponent; she led her team in an upset against the No. 14 Oklahoma State last season.

Lexi Slater and Maddie Reese drove in the two runs for the Cyclones with their only hits in the game. The win for Iowa State puts an end to Oregon’s 13-game winning streak.

In their second game of the day the Cyclones couldn’t hold up against No. 23 Oregon State, losing 1-9. The ISU softball team comes away from the Fresno State Tournament 1-4 as it gears up for the next road trip.

The Cyclones will head to Tampa, Fla. to compete against five different teams.
