Women’s golf team takes fifth in Windy City Collegiate Classic

The ISU women’s golf team placed fifth out of the 15 teams represented at the Windy City Collegiate Classic.

After day one, the team was in third place. Punpaka Phuntumabamrung was tied for third place going into the final day of the meet, and Prima Thammaraks was tied for seventh.

The third round of the classic left Iowa State tied for fifth with Oklahoma State, one of the other Big 12 competitors. Iowa State had a final score of 891.

Phuntumabamrung finished in a three-way tie for fourth, ending up even with par at a score of 216. Thammaraks fell to 17th after the third round.

Cajsa Persson, Chonlada Chayanun and Sasikarn On-iam also competed for the ISU women’s golf team and helped to bring home a fifth place finish in Golf, Ill.

Iowa State competes again from Oct. 12 to 14 in the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Classic.
