Just Long coming to ISU on Tuesday

David Bartholomew

In light of the kickoff of early voting week on campus, the ISU College Democrats will be hosting actor Justin Long on campus Tuesday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on the steps of Parks Library. Long, known for his roles in movies such as Dodgeball, Accepted, and Waiting as well as the infamous Mac vs. PC commercials, will be there to discuss President Obama’s achievements in regards to young voters, talk to students, and encourage them to vote early and often. Long joins an ever-growing list of celebrities like Adam Scott and Rashida Jones from NBC’s Parks and Recreation, Jason Alexander from Seinfeld, and musician Bruce Springsteen, who is set to come to campus on Thursday, who have all come to the Ames area in the last couple of months in support of President Obama’s reelection effort, not to mention Obama himself who came to ISU in early September. With only three weeks until election day, early voting, which began this week, will give students a chance to cast their ballots early and not have to worry about standing in line on election day. Students may cast their early ballots at six different locations around campus.
