Iowa State in the middle of double dual

The ISU women’s swimming and diving team competed against South Dakota and Nebraska at their double dual in Ames, where Nebraska beat South Dakota 240-59, Iowa State beat South Dakota 246-53 and Nebraska defeated Iowa State 176.5-122.5.

Imelda Wistey finished first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.07.

Amanda Paulson tied for first against Nebraska in the freestyle sprint, and Brie Loeschke won 200 backstroke with a time of 2:04.97.

Wistey also took first in 200 breaststroke, Iowa State swept this event taking first, second and third.

Assistant coach Kelly Nordell named Paulson, Loeschke and Wistey as swimmers to watch in this meet beforehand.

Nebraska went into the meet 4-0 and lived up to Iowa State coaches’ expectation as tough competition defeating both Iowa State and South Dakota.

The ISU swim team will compete again at the Kansas Invitational Nov. 16 to 18. The ISU diving team will compete at the Iowa Invitational Nov. 30 to Dec. 2.
