Both the ISU men’s and women’s cross-country teams had strong showings today in the Roy Griak Invitational, in Falcon Heights, Minn.

Bouncing back from a disappointing sixth-place finish last year at Griak, the men took second behind only No. 18 Minnesota. The women dominated the field to take the women’s team title for a second straight year in a row.

The Cyclone men managed to have four runners in the top 25. Junior Falko Zauber led the way with a sixth-place finish and a time of 24:53, and junior Mohamed Hrezi followed close behind with a ninth-place finish (25:01).

Senior Betsy Saina (20:51) took first overall in the women’s race. Biting at Saina’s heels was senior Meaghan Nelson (20:59), who took second overall. Junior Samantha Bluske and sophomore Katy Moen also had top-20 finishes.
