Cyclones fall short against Hawkeyes

The ISU soccer team was defeated by Iowa with a final score of 3-1 having goals scored by sophomore Katie Nassenbenny, sophomore Cloe Lacasse, and freshman Brooke Backes for the Hawkeyes.

The soccer team kicked off its first home game against Iowa with 1,451 record attendees on Friday, Aug. 31.

Scoring her third goal of the 2012 season, junior Emily Goldstein fired a shot with 3:14 left to carry the Cyclones offensively for the night.

Playing for 90 minutes, goalkeeper Maddie Jobe (3-2) defended the Cyclones having a total of five saves for the night.

The Cyclones will next play against Northern Iowa on Tuesday, Sept. 4 with a 7 p.m. kickoff hosted at the Iowa State Soccer Complex in Ames, Iowa.
