Dark Knight Rises brings fans to midnight premiere

On July 19, hours before the release of the latest installment of the Dark Knight Trilogy fans are lining up and celebrating the end of a movie series. Nearly everyone in line is wearing a shirt with the Batman logo on it, and those that aren’t wearing the logo on their shirt are either dressed as Bane, Catwoman, or Batman himself.

Rob Josephson of Mayhem Comics and Games was at the release, handing out free Batman logo pins to fans in line.

“Everyone talks about it” Josephson said. “Especially since this is the last hoorah for the Summer movies this year.”

Working at a comic store, midnight releases for comic book movies are practically mandatory for Josephson.

“I’m pretty excited,” said Sarah Holliday. “Batman is not quite a hero, since he’s against the law and stuff… but he’ll still save them anyway and they’ll all be happy.”

Luke Danielson, an avid fan of the Batman series was excited for the “Dark Knight Rises.” Danielson’s friends refer to him as the “Batman guy.”

“Ever since day one I’ve been a Batman fan,” Danielson said, proudly wears the Batman logo shirt and a wristband numbered in the single digits. “He’s the best ‘superhero’ in the world, no doubt… Ever since I saw ‘Batman Begins,’ I was hoping for a good trilogy, because the [previous Batman films] were good, but nothing compared to these films.”
