Bevin Waters and Eric Fritz, both of Ames, announce their engagement and plans to marry.

Waters is the daughter of Rick and Sonja Myers, former residents of Hastings. She is a senior in mathematics and secondary education with a minor in history at Iowa State. Waters graduated from Hastings High School in 2009. She volunteers at the Assault Care center in Ames and is a member of Kappa Delta sorority. Waters is also co-leader of a Girl Scout troop.

Fritz, a former resident of Iowa Falls, is the son of Bryan and Lora Fritz of Iowa Falls. He is an assistant scientist II at Iowa State. Fritz received his Bachelor of Science in animal science and then his Master of Science in animal breeding and genetics (focus on bioinformatics) from Iowa State. Fritz graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 2003. He is a member of the Assault Care Center’s Board of Directors and Iowa Men’s Action Network, both of which work to stop violence against women. The couple is planning a May 26, 2013, wedding at the ISU Alumni Center.
