The Campustown Action Association, partnered with the Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau, aims to provide community members a chance to experience what the businesses in Campustown have to offer mixed with entertainment during Summerfest In Campustown.

The event, according to CAA Events Committee Chair Anne Taylor, will be focused around Campustown’s offerings for families in the community that they may not experience during the academic year. A range of events centered around the family aspect will be made available throughout the day on Saturday.

The events offered include live music by local musicians, games, contests, face paintings and food all hosted and sponsored by the businesses of the Campustown area.

Some games and contests during the event include bingo, tic-tac-toe, a dunk tank and a bean bag toss tournament with various prizes for each. The bean bag toss competition requires a $10 entry fee and form which can be obtained at KD Game Room Supply.

Live music will be played throughout the length of the event from noon to 9 p.m.

A beer garden, supplied by Iowa Beverage, will offer a range of beers including both domestic and craft brews.
