Cyclones earn 25 entries into NCAA track and field regional

The ISU men’s and women’s track and field teams earned 25 entries into the NCAA West Regional, as announced Thursday. 

In all, 12 ISU women and 11 ISU men were invited. The NCAA West Regional will take place from May 24 to 26 in Austin, Texas, with the athletes competing for spots in the NCAA Championships.

Four women made the top 48 cut for the regional in the 400-meter hurdles. Kianna Elahi is seeded fourth with a time of 56.41 from the Big 12 Championships. 

For the men, Ian Warner qualified for three events. Warner is seeded fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.13, which he ran at the Big 12 Championships. Warner will also compete in the 200-meter dash and the 4×100-meter relay.

Athletes who qualify for the NCAA Championships will compete from June 6 to 9 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
