ISU football player linked in warrant of possible sexual assault

Daily Staff

An unnamed ISU football player has been linked to a sealed search warrant issued to a case of possible sexual assault, according to the Ames Tribune.

The seal on the warrant, which was filed on April 24, was requested by Mary Howell Sirna, Story County assistant attorney, according to the report.

The Tribune reported that the request for the seal included a case number, which matched the case number for an incident on April 13.

A check of the Department of Public Safety log by The Daily revealed that a sexual assault was reported by a female student on April 13 at 11:57 p.m. at Frederiksen Court.

The log only added that the report was initiated, no further details were disclosed.

Sirna declined a request for comment from The Daily and said the attorney’s office does not comment on current investigations.
