The ISU tennis team came up short in a 5-2 loss to No. 19 Texas Tech on Sunday.

All three doubles teams lost to put the Cyclones (4-17, 1-7 Big 12) down 1-0. The Cyclones did not come close, with the closest doubles matches being won 8-3 by the Lady Raiders (18-4, 8-1).

In singles play, Iowa State got a big win by sophomore Simona Cacciuttolo against No. 120 Rashmi Teltumbde in a 6-4, 6-2 victory. It was Cacciuttolo’s fourth straight conference win in singles.

ISU senior Maria Fernanda Macedo also won for the Cyclones, with a 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 against Elizabeth Ullathorne.

It was the second consecutive conference win for Macedo after she struggled for part of the season.
