Update (6 p.m., Monday, April 2):

Traffic is flowing in both directions along South Fifth Street. All lanes of South Duff Avenue are also open.

CyRide announced on Facebook that the blue route detour would remain in effect until further notice. It said it would to provide updates on Facebook and Twitter when they become available.

Update (9:14 a.m., Monday, April 2):

City crews have reopened the eastbound lanes of South Fifth Street to traffic. The westbound lane remains closed as crews replace the cement. CyRide is continuing to detour its blue route.

City crews will shut down one lane of southbound South Duff Avenue to repair a water main break at 5 p.m. Sunday.

The outside southbound lane of South Duff Avenue will be closed for about 24 hours while repairs are being made. Access to South Duff Avenue from eastbound South Fifth Street will be prohibited during this time, according to a news release from the city of Ames.

CyRide’s blue route will be detouring during this time. The southbound route will turn north on to Walnut Street instead of continue to Duff Avenue. It will continue eastbound on South Second Street and turn south on Sherman Avenue. The route will return to South Third Street and continue on the normal northbound route.
