Iowa State ends regular season at No. 6 Nebraska

Isaac Hunt

Iowa State travels to Nebraska to face the No. 6 team in the nation in its final meet of the regular season.

Under coach Jay Ronayne the Cyclones haven’t beaten the Huskers in the regular season. The only time Iowa State (5-6, 0-2 Big 12), under Ronayne, outscored Nebraska (11-2) was in the 2008 Big 12 Championship.

Although Iowa State has been peaking of late its highest score (195.975) is lower than Nebraska’s average (196.960).

The uphill battle will be nothing new to the Cyclones who have faced eight top 25 teams this season.

Nebraska leads the series 90-23-1. It has become a norm for the former Big 12 team to defeat its rival Iowa State.

Michelle Browning will try to continue her hot streak. A streak that couldn’t have come at a better time for her team. The Cyclones head to the Big 12 Championship soon and are fighting for a high seed in their regional match up.

Celine Paulus has proven herself a viable candidate for Most Improved Gymnast of the Year. She will only have a few more chances to show off her skills and how much she has improved so the meet at Nebraska may hold more meaning for the senior.

Iowa State will perform against Nebraska Friday night at 7 PM.
