Meghan Cassens won her singles tournament bracket Sunday at the Kansas Invitational.

Cassens defeated Indiana’s Ariel Beckerman in straight sets (6-1, 6-3) to capture the victory. Earlier in the weekend, Cassens defeated Kansas State’s Petra Chunda in three sets to earn her match in the finals Sunday.

Two other Cyclones — Ksenia Pronina and Jenna Langhorst — also were playing in the finals rounds Sunday.

Pronina lost her match in the Draw A finals to Kansas State’s Karla Bonacic. Langhorst lost in straight sets to her KSU opponent as well.

Maria Fernanda Macedo and Simona Cacciuttolo were in Tulsa, Okla., for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Regional tournament.

In ITA action, Macedo and Cacciuttolo, who were partnered up for doubles action, won their first match, but lost in their second match to be eliminated from the tournament.

Macedo, however, was still in the singles action for the tournament. She lost in the first round in both the championship and consolation brackets, eliminating her from the tournament.
