Apple co-founder Steve Jobs dies

“Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being,” Apple said on its website, announcing the death of co-founder Steve Jobs.

“Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor,” the statement said. “Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”


Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple, has died, according to Apple. He was 56.

Jobs stepped down as CEO of Apple in August, apparently for health reasons.
