ISU women place 9th, men 29th at Wisconsin Adidas Invite

The ISU men and women placed ninth and 29th in the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational in Madison, Wis., on Friday.

The women’s ninth-place finish was its first defeat of the season, with a final score of 362.

Leading the way for the Cyclones was senior Meaghan Nelson who placed ninth overall in the 6,000-meter race with a time of 20:16. Close behind was senior Dani Stack and junior Betsy Saina, who placed 11th and 18th. 

The men’s team placed 29th out of 39 teams, racking up a total of 638 points. 

Sophomore Martin Coolidge placed 28th for the men with a time of 24:17 in the 8,000-meter race, widening the gap between his teammates during the race. Senior Rico Loy placed 107th at the meet and was second for the Cyclones.

Up next for the Cyclones is the Big 12 Championships on Oct. 29 in College Station, Texas.
