High wind warning issued for Ames until Monday morning

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has extended the high wind warning for Story County. The warning will now expire at 3 a.m., instead of 2 a.m.


 

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a high wind warning for Story County until 2 a.m. Monday.

According to the alert damaging wind gusts of up to 65 mph are likely as thunderstorms pass to the east. The winds will initially be out of the northwest and switch to the northeast before fading out.
